Run a Work Package Review Cycle
This tutorial creates a work package, populates it with documents, and routes the package through a structured review cycle to a completed decision.
Outcome​
You will have a closed work package with all linked documents reviewed, a decision recorded on each, and a complete audit trail.
Before you start​
The documents for this package should already be registered. You need document controller or project admin access.
Steps​
1 — Create the package​
- Go to Work Packages.
- Select New package.
- Enter the package reference and name.
- Set the responsible party, discipline, and target submission date.
- Save. Status is Draft.
2 — Link documents​
- Open the package and select Add documents.
- Search for and select the relevant register records.
- Confirm the document list. All linked documents should be at the correct revision.
- Update the package status to Active.
3 — Start the review workflow​
- From the package detail view, select Start workflow.
- Choose the appropriate workflow template.
- Confirm reviewers, due dates, and instructions.
- Submit.
4 — Monitor and manage​
- Use the package activity view to track reviewer responses.
- Chase overdue reviewers through the workflow interface.
- Add comments or instructions as required.
5 — Close the package​
- Confirm all linked documents have received the required decision.
- Update each document's status to reflect the approved or revised outcome.
- Set the package status to Submitted, then Closed.
- Run the package report for the client or project record.
Verify​
Open each linked document and confirm the status, review decision, and activity log are correct. Export the package report as PDF for the project file.
