Column Chooser

Available in: All plans
Last updated: 26-Feb-2026

Overview

The Column Chooser lets you control which columns appear in the Activities Grid and in what order. Kazinex supports 265+ columns across 13 categories — from basic fields like Activity ID and Start Date to advanced metrics like Earned Value and Enhanced Metrics.

Open it by clicking Columns in the toolbar, or from the Activities Grid toolbar.

The Three-Panel Layout

The Column Chooser opens as a full-width modal with three panels:

PanelWidthPurpose
Categories (left)25%Browse column categories with icons and counts
Available Columns (centre)38%Search and select columns to add
Selected Columns (right)37%View, reorder, and remove your active columns

On tablet screens, the layout adapts to two columns. On mobile, it switches to a single-column stacked view.

Adding Columns

  1. Browse or search for the column you want in the Available Columns panel.
  2. Click the column card (or press Enter when focused) to add it to the Selected panel.
  3. The column appears at the bottom of your Selected list.

Search — Type in the search bar at the top of the Available panel to filter by column name or description. Search uses a 300 ms debounce so results appear as you type without lag.

Removing Columns

  • Click the trash icon (🗑) on any column card in the Selected panel to remove it.
  • Click Clear All at the top of the Selected panel to remove every column at once.

Reordering Columns

Columns display in the grid in the same order they appear in the Selected panel (top = leftmost in grid).

Drag and Drop

Grab the drag handle (≡) on the left side of any selected column card and drag it up or down to reposition.

Arrow Buttons

Each selected column card also has Move Up (↑) and Move Down (↓) buttons for keyboard-friendly reordering.

Applying Changes

Click Apply in the footer to save your column selection and close the dialog. The grid immediately reflects your changes.

Click Cancel to discard all changes and close the dialog without modifying the grid.

tip

When you reopen the Column Chooser, it always starts with your current column configuration. Any changes you make only take effect after clicking Apply.
