General Settings

General Settings covers the top-level identity and configuration for your project or organisation.

Project General Settings

Access: Settings → General (within a project)

Field	Type	Description
Project Name	Text	The display name of the project. Appears in the project selector and all exports.
Project Reference	Text (optional)	Short code or contract number for the project (e.g. `PRJ-2024-042`). Used in reports and exports.
Start Date	Date	Project start date — used in duration calculations and report date ranges.
End Date	Date (optional)	Planned completion date — used in overdue calculations if set.
Timezone	Dropdown	Project timezone. Due dates and timestamps display in this timezone for all project members. Default: org timezone.
Description	Text area (optional)	Free-text description of the project. Visible on the project card in the Projects list.

Click Save to apply changes. Changes take effect immediately.

Access: Settings → Organisation → General (Org Admin only)

Field	Type	Description
Organisation Name	Text	The display name shown in the header and all notifications.
Organisation Slug	Text	URL-safe identifier used in your Kazinex URL (`your-slug.kazinex.com`). Contact support to change.
Timezone	Dropdown	Default timezone for all projects and notification digests. Can be overridden per project.
Date Format	Dropdown	How dates display throughout the interface (DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD).
Contact Email	Email	Primary contact email for system-to-admin communications (billing notices, security alerts).

Individual members can set their own preferences via Avatar → Profile → Preferences.
