Submit and Review

Once data entry is complete, a contributor submits the edition for review. Depending on the blueprint's workflow configuration, the edition is routed to one or more reviewers for assessment, comments, and approval.

Submitting an edition

  1. Complete all required fields in the edition.
  2. Save any unsaved changes (Ctrl+S or the Save button).
  3. Click Submit in the edition header.
  4. The Submit dialog opens:
    • Select a workflow template (if multiple are configured for this blueprint).
    • The selected workflow determines the review steps and who is assigned.
  5. Click Submit.

The edition status changes from Draft to In Review. The header shows a lock alert: "This edition is under workflow review — Editing is locked."

Editing lock during review

While an edition is In Review, the data entry grid and form inputs are read-only for all contributors. The edition cannot be edited until a reviewer returns it for revision or the review is completed.

The ✨ AI Fill, Copy Prior, Save, and Submit buttons are hidden during the review lock.

Review panel

Click Review in the header to open the Review panel (right side, 380px). The Review button shows as primary (highlighted) when the panel is open.

The Review panel has three sections:

Workflow Progress

Visual step indicators showing the review stages and which step is currently active. Shows the assigned reviewer for the current step.

Steps list

Each workflow step is listed with:

  • Step name and description.
  • Status — Pending, Active, Completed, Skipped.
  • Assignee — Who is responsible for this step.
  • Action buttons (only shown for the reviewer's active step):

Comments

Each comment shows:

  • Author and timestamp.
  • Cell link — click to navigate to the exact cell the comment is on.
  • Comment text.
  • Resolve button — mark the comment as resolved (by the contributor after addressing it).

Use the filter control (FilterOutlined) to filter comments by section or resolution status.

Responding to reviewer comments

If a reviewer returns the edition for revision:

  1. The edition status returns to Draft.
  2. Open the Review panel to see the comments.
  3. Navigate to each comment (click the cell link) and address the issue.
  4. Click Resolve on each comment after addressing it.
  5. Save and re-submit when all comments are addressed.

Approving without a workflow

If the blueprint has no workflow configured (simple approval mode):

  1. A user with Reviewer or Report Owner role opens the edition.
  2. The header shows Approve and Reject buttons directly (no workflow steps).
  3. Click Approve — confirm in the prompt. Edition status changes to Approved.
  4. Click Reject — confirm in the prompt. Edition returns to Draft.

After approval

When the workflow is approved (or a direct Approve action is taken):

  • Edition status changes to Approved.
  • An info alert appears: "Workflow Approved/Completed on [date]".
  • The Publish button appears for users with Report Owner or Admin role.
