Recent highlights

Advanced chart library

Report Forge now includes an expanded advanced chart library covering:

  • Waterfall charts with configurable bar types (increment, decrement, subtotal, opening, closing) and Others grouping for long tail categories.
  • Treemap with drill-down interaction and four color modes (solid, gradient, field-mapped, threshold).
  • Decomposition tree with manual, AI-assisted, and fixed-path modes for root cause and contribution analysis.
  • Funnel / pyramid with stepped, smooth, inverted triangle, and pyramid modes and conversion rate display.
  • Box plot with five whisker modes, individual point overlay, and precomputed data mode.
  • Scatter-bubble combining scatter and bubble chart modes on the same component.
  • Resource usage profile with stack-by dimensions, capacity source, and overload highlighting.
  • Milestone Trend Analysis (MTA) with schedule drift highlighting and baseline comparison.

See Components for full details.

Maps component

The new Maps component brings geospatial project reporting to Report Forge:

  • Six presets covering site locations, activity clusters, resource distribution, risk map, progress by area, and asset register.
  • Nine layer types: point markers, clustered points, heatmap, bubble, choropleth, line, WMS tile, GeoJSON overlay, and label.
  • Five basemap styles: road, light, dark, minimal, and satellite.
  • Geocoding from address fields with per-report caching.

See Maps Component for configuration details.

Subreport and button components

Subreport embeds one blueprint's output inside another, with parameter mapping from parent to child and dynamic height sizing. Use it to maintain reusable sections (cover pages, standard footers, compliance sections) in one place.

Button adds navigation and filter actions to report pages: navigate to a page, bookmark, or external URL; drill through to a filtered detail page; apply or toggle a filter; or navigate back.

See Subreport and Button.

Output Designer improvements

  • Ribbon Data tab now includes a Preview data panel showing raw section rows for debugging binding issues.
  • Page Layout → Apply to all pages applies size, orientation, and margins to the entire output in one step.
  • Field manager in the Data tab provides a consolidated view of all fields and calculated fields across all sections.
  • Component list panel in the View tab shows a named tree of all components on the current page for easier selection.

Parameters and calculated fields enhancements

  • New Cascading parameters: a Select parameter's allowed values can be filtered by another parameter's current selection.
  • New date functions in calculated field expressions: DATEDIFF, DATEADD, and relative date references.
  • SWITCH expression function for multi-branch logic without nested IF statements.

See Parameters and Calculated Fields.

Export enhancements

  • PDF quality setting: choose Standard (screen) or High (print) quality.
  • PDF password protection: optional encryption for confidential PDFs.
  • Excel data-only mode: export without styling for downstream data processing.
  • Export schedule: configure automatic PDF delivery on edition approval or on a calendar schedule.

See How to Export a Report.

AI Design and AI Fill

Report Forge now includes two AI-powered features to accelerate blueprint creation and edition data entry:

AI Design (Blueprint Designer):

  • Click ✨ AI Design in the Blueprint Designer header to upload an existing report (PDF, Word, Excel, or image).
  • AI analyses the document structure and suggests sections and fields — names, types, required flags, and option lists.
  • Review suggestions with confidence levels (high/medium/low) and accept with one click.
  • Supported models: GPT-4o and Claude Sonnet 4.6.
  • See AI Design for full details.

AI Fill (Edition Editor):

  • Click ✨ AI Fill in the Edition toolbar (draft editions only) to upload a source document.
  • AI reads the document and maps extracted values to your blueprint's fields, showing suggested values with confidence levels.
  • Review the extraction table, correct any misread values, and accept to auto-populate the edition.
  • Supports fuzzy field matching, repeating-row extraction, and an unmapped data panel for values with no matching field.
  • See AI Fill for full details.

Coming soon

  • Multi-project aggregation outputs: outputs that aggregate data across multiple projects' editions into a programme-level report.
  • Version comparison view: side-by-side comparison of two edition outputs to highlight changed values.
  • Custom theme builder: create and save named color and typography themes for consistent branding across all outputs.
