Repair a Broken Report Design

Use this tutorial when a report design previews incorrectly or exports with missing content.

You will isolate whether the issue is binding, filtering, formatting, page layout, or export behavior.

Steps

1. Save the current output template.
2. Preview with an edition that has complete sample data.
3. If a visual is empty, remove visual filters and confirm field bindings.
4. Add a simple table using the same section to verify data exists.
5. If the component returns data, rebuild the original component binding gradually.
6. If the page clips content, check page size, margins, orientation, and component width.
7. If export differs from preview, review the Export Support Matrix.
8. Reapply formatting only after the data and page layout are correct.
